Social media is only effective in the present!  You can’t dwell on the past; the focus needs to be on what is happening NOW, in real time, not last season, last month or even last week. Real time is in high demand, this means that current updates, fresh news and posts living in the present are a must; it is what people want and expect.  Facebook, smart phones, email and the internet in general have all changed the way that everyone functions, and to keep up, the use of instagram, twitter, facebook and blogs (just to name a few) are vital.

We live in a society that expects results immediately.  They want to know things as they are happening, and the need for results even faster is overwhelming and nearly impossible to keep up with. The up and coming generation has grown up with the evolving advancement of technologies, these newly emerging customers rely on social networking for their information and are moving along quickly with the progressions making them hard to engage without the use of the latest and greatest. As everything gets smaller, better and faster every six months our job is to keep up and make it look effortless!

So what can you do to move forward and make an impact online?

Facebook is still in the lead of the social networking race, and is definitely one that should not be ignored! Close behind would be Twitter, LinkedIn, Yelp and Pinterest. All of these sites are tools, they are here to help your business and if done well, will serve you and your company in ways that you could never imagine (all nearly for free). Social networking that works smoothly, looks professional and is current will ultimately bring internet goers to your website creating an opportunity to hook new clients and overall interest.  The main point to focus on is clear information that is easy to access and to navigate.  The leading reason for potential customers to give up on a company would be an amateur look, poor layout, lack of information, and dead-end links.  Don’t be a victim to your own website and social networking page, be proactive and make your sites an easy to navigate destination for news, products and services.
